On February 1st, Inform Interior will host Architect James KM Cheng and author Trevor Boddy as they celebrate the launch of their new book City Builders: The Architecture of James KM Cheng. “This stunning book is the first major documentation of the work of one of the world’s leading shapers of emerging cities, James K.M. Cheng. Devising high-density residential complexes, Cheng combines expertise in urban and garden design, commercial real estate development, and carefully proportioned architecture into a new and synthetic role, that of “City-Builder.” The majority of the photographs in the book were taken by Cheng, creating a rare architecture book with visuals framed by the architect himself. City Builder: The Architecture of James K.M. Cheng is also a history of Vancouver urban design since 1980 onwards. It is also the first narrative in print to describe and document the birth and growth of “Vancouverism,” currently influencing new residential development in other cities ranging from Dubai to San Diego to Beijing to Honolulu.” – Inform Interiors
