APR 17–SEPT 13, 2026 | In Mayor of the Village, Douglas Watt brings together a series of new and recent works that find their point of departure in Vancouver’s Davie Village, a historically significant centre of queer life in the city. Loosely staging the gallery as a café, Watt hangs within this environment a “survey” of his miniaturized model works from the past several years.

This August, Arthur Erickson Foundation bid a sad farewell to several majestic native Pacific Dogwoods in the Arthur Erickson Garden. To honour the memory of these trees, the AEF invites wood artists, wood turners, and wood carvers to select sections of the harvested Erickson dogwood for their artistic projects. Dogwood sections will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

PechaKucha Night Vancouver returns to open the 2026 Design Vancouver Festival at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat”, PechaKucha rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: each presenter shows 20 images for 20 seconds each – a 6 minute and 40 second dose of ideas before the next presenter is up. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
