The AFBC Architectural Awards of Excellence represent the highest level of architectural award in British Columbia. Their aim is to recognize and celebrate design excellence for projects across the province.
For 2025, the AFBC offers a new Awards category: The Bing Thom Legacy Award for Architectural Excellence. This award honours contributions of individuals or teams whose completed work embodies the spirit of Bing Thom’s practice and legacy. Bringing this idea to fruition involves many people and would not have happened without the leadership of Dr. Yosef Wosk who supported this Award as a tribute to his dear friend to celebrate Bing Thom’s insight and approach to architecture.
The AFBC would also like to acknowledge the generous contributions of Shinobu Homma in honour of Bing Thom for his outstanding contribution to community and civic design, and to encourage young Architects to excel in the technical excellence in architecture.
