855/899 Homer is located at the corner of the Yaletown and Library District neighbourhoods of downtown Vancouver. Completed in 1992, the building comprises a five storey podium of offices, health club, retail, and dining at the base of a 20 storey residential tower. The complex spans the length of a city block, with the tower sited at mid-block and the commercial podium wrapping around it to the west side. On the east side, the podium opens up to a public plaza, where the tower meets the ground, providing a mediated entrance for its residents that is softened from the bustling street.
