Müdry House, 1937/1970s
- Constructed 1937/1970s
- Location West Vancouver, BC
- Architect Arthur Müdry
- Builder Russell Hollingsworth
- Use Dwelling
The Müdry House wholly encapsulates Arthur’s love for architecture, the natural world, and his rare capacity to dissolve the spatial and material thresholds between the great outdoors and the constructed environment. After relocating to Vancouver and marrying his life-long partner Hazel, the couple purchased this 1937 home in West Vancouver and embarked on a transformative renovation in the 1970s. Characteristic of Arthur’s unique oeuvre, the home exudes an etherial and sophisticated whimsy where nature and home fuse into a cohesive whole.
