UBC SALA Fall 2024 Event Series
Category : Events
UBC SALA’s 2024 fall event series features lectures, panels, and events by designers and experts from around the world. The New Directions in Housing series continues with talks that examine the challenges and opportunities that housing presents. This season, the series takes a particular look at the situation in, and solutions for, our own region. SALA will also celebrate Patrick Condon’s book, Broken City: Land Speculation, Inequality, and Urban Crisis, an examination of how to repair the broken link between local wages and shelter prices.
This semester, UBC SALA is excited to host two talks by renowned designers from Mexico City. Their Arthur Erickson Lecture returns with Tatiana Bilbao of Tatiana Bilbao Estudio, and includes an opportunity to visit the recently-reopened UBC Museum of Anthropology. The annual Garden Design Lecture features Hortense Blanchard and Susana Rojas Saviñón of Estudio Ome.
Their events are free and all are welcome to attend, although some events are ticketed.
