HH Pitts House, 1961
- Constructed 1961
- Location Vancouver, BC
- Designer
Robertson, Kolbeins, Teevan & Gallaher - Use Dwelling
The H.H. Pitts House is amongst a handful of understated midcentury modern homes along the East Vancouver waterfront the origins of which, until now, have evaded proper verification. Sharing in architectural form and character, these post-and-beam homes present a quiet, albeit exceptionally located, vessel for modern living set against the stunning backdrop of the harbour and the Coastal Mountains.
We now know that these houses were originally designed by Robertson, Kolbeins, Teevan & Gallaher, and that this home was commissioned for urologist H.H. Pitts. It has since undergone elegant and sensitive renovations that have only elevated its modern charm.
